Dermaroller Natural Skin Regeneration
How does Dermaroller treatment work?
The Genuine Dermaroller medical device produces thousands of microscopic needle-columns in the skin. Each column penetrates into the middle layer (dermis) of the skin, closing rapidly to enable the skin to recover very quickly. This will encourage the body to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface to produce new collagen and elastin. Dermaroller can be used to rejuvenate aging or sun-damaged skin, or to remove scarring such as acne scars or stretch marks.
How long does it take to see results?
It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of skin regeneration and repair are noticed. The process will continue for several monthes, providing you with a gradual and long-lasting enhancement.
How many treatments do I need?
We normally recommend three Dermaroller procedures at an interval of six weeks. The treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring may require up to five Dermaroller procedures.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately after your Dermaroller treatment your skin will look as though it is moderately sunburnt and may feel warm or tighter than usual. This will begin to subside after an hour or two and you should only have slight redness by the following day.
How should I care for my skin after Dermaroller treatment?
Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the first 48 hours after Dermaroller treatment and dry gently. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area. We recommend that you do not apply make-up to the area for at least 12 hours after your Dermaroller treatment. A sunscreen of SPF50 or higher should be applied if going out into sunlight immediately after treatment.
Once the redness has cleared after your Dermaroller treatment, it is important that the skin is cared for on a daily basis, using effective cosmetic skin products. Dr Natasha will advise you on the best skin care products to use during your initial consultation.
