Dermaroller Natural Skin Regeneration
What is Dermaroller and how does it work?
Dermaroller is a treatment that encourages the skin to repair itself, using its own naturally-occurring collagen to ease scarring and other forms of damage to the skin.
What conditions does Dermaroller treatment repair?
The Dermaroller treatment is a natural treatment to aid skin regeneration and scar repair.
It can be used for:
- Acne Scarring
- Sun damaged and aged skin
- Facial and décolleté fine lines
- Stretch Marks.
The Genuine Dermaroller was the first micro-medical skin-needle roller and has been extensively researched and is one of the highest quality devices on the market. In the clinic I use the MF8 roller (needle length 1.5mm and roller head 20mm) or for smaller areas the MF4 roller (needle length 1.5mm and roller width 10mm). These can only be used by a trained medical practitioner and are not for home use.
Dermaroller is a totally natural treatment using nothing other than the very fine needle to minimally penetrate the skin surface. Nothing is injected into the skin. The process of needling the skin activates a healing response and encourages new collagen formation hence improving scarring and skin damage. The process of collagen stimulation is not immediate and a course of treatments is recommended.
The Dermaroller can be used and compliments other rejuvenation treatments such as the injectable treatments for wrinkles and facial peels.
Treatment Regimes:
Skin regeneration - a course of 2 to 3 with a minimum of 6 weeks between them is advised. Maintenance treatments may be twice yearly one of procedures.
Acne scars - a course of 3 to 5 with approx. 6 weeks between them.
Stretch marks - a course of 3 to 5 with approx. 6 weeks between them.
Treatment Procedure
Local anaesthetic cream is applied to the treated area and left to allow to numb the skin. This is then cleansed off and the Dermaroller treatment commeneced. The Dermaroller is passed over the area 4 times in a cross-like formation. After your treatment the skin is cleansed again and a healing Chiroxy cream is applied and is necessary an SPF cream.
Aftercare
The treated area will resemble moderate sunburn and may feel warmer and tighter than usual. This normally reduces by 50% within 1 to 2 hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day.
Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 48 hours and dry gently, always make sure hands are clean when touching the treated area. It is recommended that make-up is not applied for 12 hours after the procedure. If the you will be in daylight immediately after the procedure apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with an SPF 50;. It is advised that you use a sunblock for 2 weeks post treatment. You may resume your skincare regime once redness has gone.
